Office manager

Stephanie Nesby is a Chicago native that is very family oriented, compassionate and caring.  She has been working virtually for the past 7 years and enjoys her new role as practice manager.  She has made a commitment to staying highly involved with her family of seven.  Working from home allows Stephanie to volunteer regularly at her children’s school, coach her daughter’s volleyball team, and be a member of the School Athletic Board.  In her free time, she enjoys spending time outside with her family and dog, playing sports, going to attractions and events downtown, cooking, and hanging out with friends.

Mariah Hall,

Registered Medical Assistant

Mariah Hall is a Registered Medical Assistant, certified by American Medical Technologists. She began her career in healthcare by working in the medical records department at a local hospital, while attending college. Since that time, she has accumulated nearly eight years of experience and education in various areas of healthcare and patient care. She has a unique combination of in-office and virtual patient care experience. In addition to Mariah’s work experience, she is an outgoing, caring, and compassionate individual.  She lives in Montana with her family of four. Mariah is married and raising 2 terrific boys. She is outgoing, caring and compassionate. Being a ‘true’ Montanan, Mariah enjoys being outdoors, camping, and traveling

Barbara Sobel, MS, CNS, LDN,

Functional Clinical Nutritionist

Barbara Sobel is a clinical nutritionist in the San Francisco Bay Area. She has a masters degree in nutrition from Maryland University of Integrative Health. She is board certified by the Board for Certification of Nutritionist Specialists and licensed in Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree in political science from University of California, San Diego. She began her career in the public and nonprofit sectors advocating for health and environmental issues.

Barbara’s interest in functional medicine began as she navigated her own personal health challenges. She sees the body as a set of interconnected systems that work together in harmony. With a diet based in real food, optimal sleep, relaxation, social support, and the right amount of exercise, those systems have the foundation they need to heal and flourish. She strives to empower and support her clients as they create diet and lifestyle habits to support health and wellness.

Brittany Forman

is a certified Functional Nutritionist and Lifestyle Practitioner, as well as a certified Health Coach. She works with each patient throughout their journey with Functional Medicine SF. Brittany believes you're not what you eat, you're what your body does with what you eat; each person has their own unique physiology and there is no one size fits all nutrition plan.

Brittany recieved her certificate in functional nutrition from Holistic Nutrition Lab in Portland, Oregon. Brittany is a certified Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. She is the founder of Wellbeing with Brittany.

Lisa Deptula,

Board certified Physician Assistant (PA-C),  Master of Medical Science (MMS)

Lisa Deptula is a board certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with a Master of Medical Science (MMS) from Northwestern University. After graduation, Lisa practiced in the field of dermatology. In addition, Lisa holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Michigan.

Lisa was led to the field of functional medicine after being dissatisfied with the recommendations and treatment outcomes from her conventional medical doctors. She was thrilled with the results functional medicine had in her own life, and recognized the potential benefits of using this approach with her future patients.

Lisa is a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) and has completed several training modules with IFM and the Kresser Institute ADAPT course. Her training included a functional medicine approach to gastrointestinal dysfunction, immune dysregulation, chronic infections, hormonal imbalance, cardiometabolic syndrome, stress management, toxins, food sensitivities and nutritional therapy.

Lisa is passionate about using functional medicine focused on the root cause and a personalized approach to help her patients prevent and reverse disease and achieve optimal health.

is a functional medicine physician based in the San Francisco Bay Area.  After attending college at the University of Virginia, and a masters program in Bioethics at Rush University in Chicago, Stephanie joined a Hedge Fund in Palo Alto, CA as a research associate on the healthcare investment team. During that time, she co-authored multiple medical journal articles about evolutionary medicine, wrote a book about food and stress still available on Amazon: Low-Stress Food: Eat Your Way to a Low-Stress Life, and collaborated on patents centered around intellectual property of drugs and healthcare technology utilization for novel indications.
